Deacon David Joseph Runyan was ordained a permanent deacon in 2010 and is currently assigned to St. Steven’s Parish in Sun Lakes, Arizona. He attended the Grief to Grace retreat in 2014. Since the retreat, he has been on a journey of transformation and spiritual renewal. He is thankful to our Lord for the opportunity to serve on the Restore Dignity Board of Directors. Debbie Runyan learned of Grief to Grace while sitting in a pew at Mass listening to a homily in June 2013. After a period of discernment, she attended her first retreat in February 2014. All along she felt called to this ministry, and particularly to do whatever she could to bring Grief to Grace to Phoenix, AZ. By the grace of God, this has happened as she is now a retreat team member and serving on the Board of Directors for Restore Dignity to help further the work. She is married and the mother of 3 daughters. Her interest in working with adult survivors of sexual abuse within the context of Grief to Grace stems from the healing she has experienced after walking this journey with a family member.
